When you have a steep slope to the Lake, you can improve accessibility with steps or a walkway. Many on the Lake are going one step further: installing a walkway specifically for golf cart access. Here is a recent customer of ours that had us build just such a golf cart path down this slope to a retaining wall above the dock area.
The parameters for a golf cart path are larger than that for walking traffic. This entailed expanding an existing 4′ walkway to 6′. Needless to say, it is difficult to widen a stone paver walkway by 2′ and keep the level, grade, and pattern seamless – but our crews did a beautiful job. The end result was a 6′ wide by 148′ long River Street Lafitt 3 piece paver golf cart path with Slate Grey Holland Stone border, extending from the driveway to the flat area just above the lake front retaining wall.
What goes down must come up again, and so we installed a 200 sf triangular shaped River Street Lafitt 3 piece paver golf cart turn around with Slate Grey border to connect the right side sidewalk to the flat area just above the lake front retaining wall.
The ‘flat area’ shown here is the existing 12′ x 15′ pea gravel landing between the bottom of the stairs and the lake front retaining wall. After these pictures were taken, we replaced it with a 12′ x 12′ River Street Lafitt 3 piece paver landing area with Slate Grey Holland Stone border, to match the new walkway and turn around area.
