That’s Progress – Two Installations

Our guys are making progress on two sites, one a combo of hardscape and tree installation and the other, new sod and foundation plantings.

The combo site involves re-planting new trees on a previously cleared site. The topography is difficult; it is a steep slope running down to the Lake. Needless to say, moving equipment and planting trees on such a steep slope is not for the faint of heart!

Rather than smaller container plants, we chose balled and burlapped trees to establish a stronger root system on the steep slope. We planted a mix of Nuttal Oaks, Red Sunset Maples, and Pink Pom Redbuds.

Fronting the trees is this Champlain Grey/Onyx Black Blu 60 border walkway connecting with the boathouse. This walkway is supported by two retaining walls, a Champlain Grey Mini Creta wall on the downhill side and a Mini Creta wall on the uphill side.

Our crew is also in the process of laying some 17 Dark Grey solid slab steps to transition the grade from the walkway.

Our second project is in the earliest stages. We cleared the ground in preparation for the installation of new sod and have begun some planting beds along the foundation.

Final photos to come, so stay tuned!
