On the River Bank- Part One

Here are the final photos of an epic project that stretched over many years. Click on any photo to get a closer look.

The scale of this project is such that we can only approach it in two posts. This first post will present our work on the front and back yards, which mainly involved the installation of sod and an irrigation system, along with some accessory paver work, pruning, and other maintenance work. As you will see, the backyard also included work on a playground with innovative additions by our crews of a life-sized chess board and hopscotch game made entirely of stone pavers.

We include below some past photos to give you some feel for the developing shape of the landscaping over the years. However, you can track this project from the start, by going to Canal WorkStonework & MulchIrrigation Project, Winter Green & Dark Walnut, WaterfrontBridge Work, How Green is your Winter, Game On!, and On the Banks of the Roanoke River.

What a pleasure it was to work on this project with this customer!

Stay tuned for Part Two of this post, which will include some major structural features we built, a river patio with a sitting wall, a stone bridge over the canal, and a large paver patio with a classic fireplace overlooking the river and a boat dock.
