Multi-Level Stone Paver Patios

Here is a customer we have worked with for years.

Our latest efforts involved stone curbing on their driveway and rip-rap drainage controls.

But earlier, we installed an expansive series of stone paver patios and walkways on the Lakeside of the house.

Here is the upper patio, overlooking the patio complex below. It is a Champlain Grey Eva paver patio with dark grey accent borders, supported by a Champlain Grey Mini Creta retaining wall with Onyx Black cap.

The lower patio is a Techo-Bloc Eva Champlain Grey paver patio with dark grey accent border, supported by a Champlain Grey Mini Creta retaining wall. This patio includes a Belgard Sienna/Midnight fire place built into the left side retaining wall.

Then, in another burst of inspiration from our customer, we connected the boathouse to the patio complex. All of these improvements were detailed in previous posts, That’s Progress – Two Installations and Final Photos – Lakeside Project.

We installed a long paver walkway with steps, drainage pipe, retaining walls, and night lighting to connect the existing fireplace patio to the boathouse. The paver walkway included a 75′ Champlain Grey Eva paver sidewalk with dark grey accent border, connecting the patio to 17 Dark Grey solid slab steps transitioning a slope, and then a Champlain Grey/dark grey border sidewalk to connect with the boathouse.

The stability of this extensive installation required some rather sophisticated engineering. The conditions dictated a Champlain Grey Mini Creta retaining wall on the down hill and uphill sides to hold the grade up to the slab steps, and also a Mini Creta wall to hold the slope between the steps and the boathouse.

We re-naturalized the slope above the boathouse with a random planting of trees. Trees include Nuttall Red Oaks, October Glory Red Maples, and other mature trees.
